The very popular U.S. Statehood Quarter Collection was initially offered in 1999 with five limited-strike coins issued per year. Now complete, the Statehood Quarter Collection consists of 50 commemorative coins with individual state designs. In addition to this collection, most Mint customers order the gold-plated collection described here. That way, they can own both commemorative sets! Each coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, untouched by hands, exactly as it came from the U.S. Mint. Then, each is layered in 24 Karat Pure Gold and encapsulated in a crystal-clear acrylic case to protect it. Each coin was minted for only 10 short weeks, with each die immediately destroyed and the issue closed forever.
