In 2007, the United States Mint began honoring our nation’s Presidents by issuing $1 circulating coins. Minted for a brief 10-week period each, four new Presidential $1 coins are released per year and the first eight coins in the series have been completed. Each coin has a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty on the reverse and features a large, dramatic forward-facing portrait of each President on the obverse.
