Presenting Three Centuries of U.S. Silver Dollars Premier Coin Collection

Here is your opportunity to acquire a collection of four U.S. dollars; real coins actually used as circulating currency, each one representing an era in the proud history of the United States. This unprecedented collection includes the famed Spanish 8 Reales, the first dollar coin circulated as legal tender in the United States... the Morgan Dollar, minted in silver actually mined from the Comstock Lode of the 1850s... the Peace Dollar, issued to commemorate the end of World War I... and the Eisenhower Dollar, honoring our 34th President, as well as the first manned moon landing in 1969.

The First U.S. Dollar

Commonly used throughout the original 13 colonies, the Spanish 8 Reales coin was accepted as legal tender until 1857. Its influence on American currency can still be seen today in the ribbon-wrapped columns on the reverse, which served as the design inspiration for the American dollar sign.

Morgan Silver Dollar - The coin of the "Wild West"

Named after its designer, the legendary Morgan Silver Dollar was minted in silver mined from the historic Comstock Lode of the late 1850s. It figured prominently in the history of the Wild West as the favorite of pioneers, gamblers and bank robbers, who valued the Morgan for its massive weight. It also earned the nickname "cartwheel" because of its large size as compared to other circulating coins at that time. Millions of Morgan Silver Dollars were destroyed and melted down in 1921. A mere fraction of all Morgans have survived to this day

Peace Dollar - The last 90% Silver Dollar

First minted in 1921, the Peace Dollar was issued to honor the end of World War I. It was minted until 1935, briefly reappeared in 1965, and holds the distinction of being the last coin struck in silver for circulation in the United States.

Eisenhower Dollar - Shortest-lived design of all U.S. Dollars

First minted in 1971, this design is the work of Frank Gasparro, the Chief Engraver for the U.S. Mint. The "Ike Dollar" honors the World War II General and two-term President, Dwight David Eisenhower. The reverse design depicts the insignia of the 1969 Apollo 11 mission, the first manned landing on the moon. The Eisenhower Dollar was minted from 1971 to 1974, the shortest minting run for any U.S. Silver Dollar.
